How I built my own Jukebox for Kids, and how you can do so, too

There are a few points why conventional jukeboxes fail to deliver. User are being forced into the dedicated cloud solutions, they are limited to the media input which the manufacturer dictates. Overall, this leaves you with a lack of control of your jukebox.

I wanted to change this, to give back the power of customizing your own jukebox solution. I did this by building a custom handmade box using open-source software and a Raspberry Pi.

I documented how to build such a box in this video: https://youtu.be/xs45d2ywO4g . Feel free to try out building your own box!

Creating this box won’t be a budget solution to your jukebox, but it sure will leave you with lots of fun and a useful music playing machine which you can mark with your own personal flavor and leverage all the flexibility which your heart desires.

Luckily enough, some folks out there had similar ideas already, and a great community has already evolved out of some of these solutions.

All this was possible to the great open source community, with all its contributors here: https://github.com/MiczFlor/RPi-Jukebox-RFID

I hope this gives you some inspiration for creating your own stuff! Happy Building!
